The Welding and Fitting program at CDC Pont Viau, offered in partnership with Construc Plus Vocational Centre in Saint Eustache, Québec, is a 15 month vocational training program (1,800 hours) that prepares students for careers in welding and metal fabrication. Taught in English within a bilingual environment, the program provides hands on training in welding techniques, fitting, assembly, and fabrication for steel structures, boilers, heavy machinery, aircraft, and marine projects. Students also learn safety practices, industry standards, and how to work in varied environments such as confined spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures. Graduates earn a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) recognized by Québec’s Ministry of Education. This program prepares students to practice the trade of a welding. It trains students to work as a welder and fitter working in different sectors in steel structures, boilers, heavy machinery, aircraft, boats and other metal products.

CDC Pont Viau, Canada will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, evidence of English study within a 12 year education system where English is designated as the primary and official language and the principal language of instruction. For applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirement, there are two pathways to achieve the necessary level:
Pre sessional English Programme; Students may successfully complete a preparatory English programme offered by the university before beginning their academic course. Recognized English Proficiency Tests; Students may submit one of the following minimum scores prior to the start of their program: IELTS: 6.5 overall band score (or equivalent), TOEFL or PTE: Score of 60, Duolingo English Test: Score of 120.
