The Acting Program at Avila is an extremely competitive program designed to prepare highly talented students for work in professional theatre. In addition to the core of required theatre courses, this comprehensive curriculum includes a sequence of courses in acting, voice, movement, and specialized workshops. Acting students are also encouraged to participate in our Avila Theatre Experience during the fall of their third year. Students audition for a wide variety of performance opportunities, including roles in the Fallon, Lab, and Studio Theatres. This balance of course work and production experience prepares students to meet the rigors of a demanding professional theatre career.

Career Path

Graduates of this program can pursue careers as Stage Actor, Film and TV Actor, Voice-over Artist, Theatre Director, Drama Teacher, Casting Director, Screenwriter, Acting Coach, Commercial Actor, Broadway Performer, Improvisation Performer, Motion Capture Actor, Entertainment Host, Stunt Performer, Entrepreneur (Acting-Based Ventures).

English Language Requirement

Avila Universty - Kansas City, Missouri will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, English taken in 12-year education, or English is designated as the primary and official language and the principle language of instruction. If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme with the university or submit 

1. English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) or PTE Score or Duolingo English Test score before you start your course.
