The Level 3 Diploma in Engineering (60 Credits) is an Ofqual regulated foundation qualification designed to introduce fundamental scientific, mathematical, and practical concepts required for technical engineering roles or higher degree programs. Ofqual regulated qualification (awarded by OTHM). Course Structure and Key Module; Fundamentals of SI units, engineering calculations, and physical principles. Principles of 2D CAD drafting, product design, and electrical systems approaches. Basic electrical components, AC/DC circuit theory, power supplies, and circuit protection. Mathematical analysis of motion, forces, energy changes, and elasticity in systems. Data collection, statistical representation, and variability analysis in engineering. Application of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, logarithms, and calculus to solve technical problems.
Graduate Path
Completing the Level 3 Diploma in Engineering (60 Credits) serves as an entry level pathway into practical technical positions such as Engineering CAD Technician, Maintenance Assistant, Quality Control Inspector, or Junior Engineering Support Specialist. Mid level roles including Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Project Manager.
