The Carpentry program at CDC Pont Viau, offered in partnership with Construc Plus Vocational Centre in Saint Eustache, Québec, is a 12 month vocational training program (1,350 hours) that prepares students for careers in residential, commercial, and civil construction. Taught in English within a bilingual environment, the program provides hands on training in project layout, concrete work, wood and metal framing, roofing, insulation, scaffolding, and finishing. Students also learn cost estimation, teamwork, and safety practices, earning a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) recognized by Québec’s Ministry of Education. This program prepares students to practice the trade of carpentry. It trains students to work as a carpenter in different sectors, mostly in residential, institutional and commercial construction and in civil engineering and road works. This program is a specialized curriculum that equips students with the skills to enter various industries as carpenters or even to launch their own enterprises.

CDC Pont Viau, Canada will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, evidence of English study within a 12 year education system where English is designated as the primary and official language and the principal language of instruction. For applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirement, there are two pathways to achieve the necessary level:
Pre sessional English Programme; Students may successfully complete a preparatory English programme offered by the university before beginning their academic course. Recognized English Proficiency Tests; Students may submit one of the following minimum scores prior to the start of their program: IELTS: 6.5 overall band score (or equivalent), TOEFL or PTE: Score of 60, Duolingo English Test: Score of 120.
