The Biology Department helps students to appreciate the significance of the biological sciences and gain proficiency in the scientific method, problem solving, and laboratory based inquiry. Biology majors are prepared for graduate work and careers in a range of scientific and multidisciplinary fields. The STEM Research Scholars Program allows HT students to conduct hands on scientific research projects with faculty mentors at HT and with collaborating partner institutions. You will develop the skills you need for a STEM career or graduate study as you research relevant scientific questions. Our Biology programme is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in the study of life and ecosystems. Alongside this, we will equip you with the scientific expertise and transferable skills needed to make meaningful contributions towards solving current environmental and societal challenges.

Huston-Tillotson University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, evidence of English study within a 12 year education system where English is designated as the primary and official language and the principal language of instruction. For applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirement, there are two pathways to achieve the necessary level:
Pre sessional English Programme; Students may successfully complete a preparatory English programme offered by the university before beginning their academic course. Recognized English Proficiency Tests; Students may submit one of the following minimum scores prior to the start of their program: IELTS: 6.5 overall band score (or equivalent), TOEFL or PTE: Score of 60, Duolingo English Test: Score of 120.
