The Chemistry program provides professional preparation for advanced training, research, and employment. It seeks to develop critical thinkers and teaches students to apply the scientific method in various academic and life applications. The chemistry mission is to prepare students for careers in chemistry and chemistry related areas, such as, health, environmental, and forensics, in the industry, government, and education sectors as well as for pursuit of graduate and professional degrees and to provide a supportive learning environment in which students can develop to their maximum potential. You will study core topics on analytical, physical, organic, inorganic, and solid state chemistry, with the opportunity to take a wide range of optional modules from green and sustainable chemistry and drug development to heterogeneous catalysis and engineering biosynthesis.

Huston-Tillotson University will accept, for the purposes of meeting the English proficiency requirement, evidence of English study within a 12 year education system where English is designated as the primary and official language and the principal language of instruction. For applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirement, there are two pathways to achieve the necessary level:
Pre sessional English Programme; Students may successfully complete a preparatory English programme offered by the university before beginning their academic course. Recognized English Proficiency Tests; Students may submit one of the following minimum scores prior to the start of their program: IELTS: 6.5 overall band score (or equivalent), TOEFL or PTE: Score of 60, Duolingo English Test: Score of 120.
