The Level 4 Diploma in Cyber Security is designed to equip learners with the technical skills and theoretical knowledge required to protect digital assets, networks, and information systems from cyber threats. Awarded by OTHM an Ofqual regulated UK qualification. The qualification comprises 6 core modules (20 credits each) evaluated through written coursework and practical assignments: Identifying vulnerability vectors, conducting threat modeling, and developing digital risk management frameworks. Understanding hardware/software network architecture, protocol security, firewalls, and data protection in transit. Scripting fundamentals (e.g., Python), database structures, and protecting code against vulnerabilities like SQL injection. Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) procedures, digital forensic acquisition, logging, and evidence gathering. Designing organizational cyber defence strategies, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR), and ethical security standards.
Graduate Path
Completing the Level 4 Diploma in Cyber Security provides immediate entry into operational IT security roles such as Junior Cyber Security Analyst, SOC Analyst (Tier 1), Network Support Officer, or Information Security Assistant. By leveraging these 120 credits to progress into a Level 5 Diploma in Cyber Security and subsequently topping up to a final year BSc (Hons) in Cyber Security or Computer Science.
