The Level 4 Diploma in Law (120 Credits) is an OTHM Ofqual regulated UK qualification designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in key legal principles, statutory interpretation, legal writing, and constitutional frameworks. The curriculum typically consists of 4 to 6 core units evaluated through written coursework assignments; Sources of law, statutory interpretation, judicial precedent, legal personnel, and court hierarchies. Principles of formation, agreement, consideration, terms, vitiating factors, and remedies for breach of contract. The UK constitution, separation of powers, parliamentary sovereignty, and human rights law. Principles of negligence, duty of care, vicarious liability, nuisance, and remedies. Actus reus, mens rea, offences against the person, property offences, and general defences.
Graduate Path
Completing the Level 4 Diploma in Law enables direct entry into foundational legal support roles such as Junior Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Compliance Officer, or Legal Executive Trainee. By utilizing these 120 credits to progress into a Level 5 Diploma, graduates can step into professional roles as Senior Paralegal, Contracts Analyst, or Corporate Compliance Manager.
